President Bill Clinton kicks-off #HarlemEatUP festival, which is now well in progress, with a great opening speech.
A little bit of rain came through but it has passed and we are ready to eat some good food and try some great wine in this packed crowd!
Good to see Bill Clinton back in Harlem where he use to have an office on 125th street for many years.
Enjoy the festival!

The longest day of light in the year “summer solstice” is Thursday, June 21, 2015. This is also Father’s Day. Plan ahead and make special plans to celebrate summer solstice outdoors for Father’s Day and enjoy an extra long day of sunlight.
Summer solstice: from Latin sol “sun” and stitium “standing still”, because seen from the earth it looks like the sun halts in its tracks going northward, and moves back south.
The June solstice dates vary. For example, it’s on June 21 in 2015, but on June 20 in 2016. A June 22 solstice will not occur until 2203. The last time there was a June 22 solstice was in 1971.
*Keep an eye out for a new Podcast “Summer Solstice Compilation Mix” coming soon from HarlemHCL. Embellish your day and celebrate with a custom soundtrack of chillout, soul, house and latin music.
‘Solstice’ (Latin: ‘solstitium’) means ‘sun-stopping’, because the point where the sun appears to rise and set, stops and reverses direction after this day (Ill: Not to scale)

We really loved this piece on this intimate community oriented eatery in East Harlem.
A tiny restaurant in East Harlem delivers conviviality and an unstylized menu that is not concerned with borders.

My husband, daughter and I recently ate dinner at Boulevard Bistro and enjoyed it a lot. We had a booth table which was comfortable and the decor and service were great. There was a large party next to us who also had a baby and they were served rather quickly as we were too.
My husband had the organic fried chicken which is served with smoked turkey collards and southern potato salad. I had the turkey meatloaf topped with wild mushroom and visalia onion gravy, with parmesan mashed potatoes and vegetables. We topped off our meal with the German cake which was also delicious.
We plan on going back soon for their brunch which we are hearing good things about.
If you haven’t tried BLVD Bistro in Harlem yet, we recommend it. Four stars on Yelp and a cozy inviting interior easily help make BLVD a charming addition to Harlem. Stay tuned for our part-two review on Boulevard Bistro.
