The January 8th edition of AMNY\u00a0<\/a>had a wonderful article written by Marleene Naanes entitled “Harlem’s Hot ‘pocket'” (PDF format – start on page 20)<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s all about the HOT \u00a0little Southwest corner of Harlem on Frederick Douglass Boulevard (aka 8th Avenue; the “continuation” of \u00a0Central Park West above 110th street) from 110th to 125th. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

The GREAT NEWS about this southwestern corridor (the “Gateway To Harlem” also known as \u00a0“SOHA” for South Harlem) only gets BETTER and BETTER with each passing day. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s HOT AND POPPIN’!<\/p>\n

The article features informative mini reviews of various establishments \u00a0including museums, lounges and restaurants: The Studio Museum, 67 Orange<\/a>, Africa Kine, Patisserie Des Ambassades just to name a few.<\/p>\n

Young single folks and new\u00a0families alike have flocked to the\u00a0area, which boasts nearby parks,\u00a0restaurants galore, new lounges\u00a0and bigger Manhattan homes for\u00a0less money. Residents say they love\u00a0that people know each other and\u00a0aren\u2019t afraid to say hi to passing\u00a0strangers.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
