One of my favorite spots in the West Village<\/a> was the Pink Teacup, a purveyor of Soul Food and resident of Grove Street for 55 years and\u00a0once frequented by celebrities Bill Cosby<\/a>, Susan Sarandon<\/a> and Whoopi Goldberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That’s why I was sad to see on a recent walk through the village that the restaurant had closed. \u00a0The space had been scrubbed clean. \u00a0There was nothing to indicate the place had ever been the Pink Teacup. \u00a0And no mention of what had happened. \u00a0What might happen. \u00a0Nothing. \u00a0It was a sad moment. \u00a0I later found that the restaurant had moved to 88 Seventh Avenue<\/a>. \u00a0But that still left me with one wish: that they would adopt Harlem<\/a> as a future home. \u00a0 It looks like that wish has been granted.<\/p>\n

The Pink Teacup, formerly owned and co-founded by Charles Raye and now\u00a0owned by Filmaker Lawrence Page, plans on opening a second location, IN HARLEM! \u00a0\u00a0DNA Info<\/a>\u00a0and GrubStreet report the location is likely to be Lenox Avenue<\/a> and West 120th Street<\/a>. \u00a0Says Page:<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a larger location, new venue features, an enticing menu including original and new dishes, and staying open until 5am for those after hours foodies the way it was back in the day, I look more than forward to serving the New York<\/a> community and continuing the delicious legacy of the Pink Tea Cup,” Page said.<\/p>\n

New dishes will include herb-crusted rack of lamb with lobster mashed potatoes, crispy fried duck drizzled with pecan sauce served, grilled pork chops stuffed with an apple, blackened barbeque salmon with saut\u00e9ed spinach and seasoned seared shrimp.<\/p>\n
