2012 Harlem Jazz Shrines Festival Re-creates Small’s Paradise Featuring Concerts, Jam Sessions and Educational Events.<\/p>\n

The events are scheduled to be held throughout Harlem, from the Apollo Theater<\/strong> to the Harlem Stage Gatehouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Johnny O'Neal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The first night will be on May 7, at 9:00 pm Harlem After Dark<\/strong><\/em> – Small’s (Re)Created:<\/strong> \u00a0Harlem After Dark featuring vocalists Johnny O’Neal, Sachal Vasandani, Umar Hassan<\/strong> (The Last Poets) and The Tap Messengers. \u00a0“<\/strong>Harlem After Dark <\/em>is a journey back into the heydays of Harlem. \u00a0In a joint effort between Revive Music and Jazzmobile, \u00a0Small’s Paradise will revisit the experience and live music of the 1030s and 1040s, presenting a retrospective concert with a modern day twist incorporating vocal numbers, tap dancing and an after-hours jam session.”<\/p>\n

The festivities with various performers will continue nightly until May 13th.<\/p>\n
