{"id":17851,"date":"2012-10-15T19:43:38","date_gmt":"2012-10-15T23:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/?p=17851"},"modified":"2012-11-15T21:04:53","modified_gmt":"2012-11-16T02:04:53","slug":"the-nook-at-red-rooster-in-harlem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/?p=17851","title":{"rendered":"The Nook at Red Rooster in Harlem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screen-shot-2012-10-15-at-7-03-46-pm1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17854 aligncenter\" title=\"Screen Shot 2012-10-15 at 7.03.46 PM\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screen-shot-2012-10-15-at-7-03-46-pm1.png\" height=\"557\" width=\"395\" srcset=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screen-shot-2012-10-15-at-7-03-46-pm1.png 395w, http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screen-shot-2012-10-15-at-7-03-46-pm1-212x300.png 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 395px) 100vw, 395px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today is the relaunch of <a href=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Nook<\/strong><\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/redroosterharlem.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Red Rooster<\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0Located in a pocket of the restaurant at its entry, The Nook sells specialty savory items and sweets created by Red Rooster Harlem\u2019s pastry chef, <strong>Deborah Racicot<\/strong>, whose impressive resume includes\u00a0Gramercy Tavern, C\u00f4te Basque, Aquavit, Picholine and, most recently, Gotham Bar and Grill, where she was pastry chef.<\/p>\n<p>With The Nook, Deborah and Marcus want to offer locals quick, healthy and affordable bites to eat. \u00a0The Nook\u2019s menu will be an extension of Red Rooster Harlem\u2019s global comfort food, with both savory and sweet selections.<\/p>\n<p>Sandwiches will include the\u00a0<strong><i>Chickety Split<\/i>,<\/strong>\u00a0fried chicken thigh served on a biscuit with sweet chili mayo and Haitian pikliz ($6.95);\u00a0<em><strong>Hoagie Svenska<\/strong><\/em>, a soft pretzel bun piled with\u00a0<i>Helga\u2019s meatballs<\/i>, quick pickles and lingonberry mayo ($6.95); and\u00a0<strong><i>Atta Boy<\/i><\/strong>, a freshly baked roti wrap filled with fried plantain, yucca and curried lentils ($7.95). \u00a0The sweet offerings will include cakes, cookies and pastries such as\u00a0<strong><i>Lingon Bullar<\/i><\/strong>, brioche dough rolled in cinnamon sugar and lingonberry jam ($1.95);<i>\u00a0<strong>Yamma Jamma<\/strong><\/i><strong>\u00a0<i>Coffee Cake<\/i><\/strong>, sweet potato cake layered with mission fig jam, topped with cinnamon streusel (2.95); and<i>\u00a0<strong>\u201cA\u201d Train Special<\/strong><\/i>, a curry-spiced oatmeal blueberry cookie with a light cream cheese filling ($1.50). \u00a0A variety of drinks will also be available including hot and cold Ambessa tea, from the line of four teas Marcus recently launched with Harney &amp;
