The documentary series leads off Monday, <\/strong><strong><span>January 18<\/span>, at <span>8 p.m. ET<\/span>\/5 p.m. PT on <a href=\"http:\/\/worldchannel.org\/programs\/afropop\/\">WORLD Channel<\/a> w<\/strong><strong>ith director Ditte Haarl\u00f8v Johnsen\u2019s<\/strong> <strong><em>Days of Hope. <\/em>The season premiere follows three African immigrants who brave it all for a better life in Europe. Jussie Smollett, star of the hit FOX TV show<em>Empire<\/em>, serves as eighth season host for the series, which <\/strong><strong>is p<\/strong><strong>roduced by <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blackpublicmedia.org\/\"><strong>National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC)<\/strong><\/a><strong> and co-presented by <\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aptonline.org\/\">American Public Television (APT)<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/AfroPop.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-196260\" src=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/AfroPop-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"AfroPop\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/AfroPop-300x188.jpg 300w, http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/AfroPop.jpg 466w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>AfroPoP<\/em> takes on important issues facing the global black community, and here it is especially on point. Episode one of the series, <em>Days of Hope<\/em>, puts a face\u2014or three\u2014on the immigration issue, showing the lengths to which brave souls will go to better their lives and their families\u2019 dire circumstances.
