Suprina started her career as a prop-maker and reflected on this juncture,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI always felt conflicted fabricating objects that were mainly used to sell retail objects (a.k.a landfill)…My artwork\u00a0is made with these very objects once they are cast away and not deemed the \u2018next best thing\u2019\u00a0anymore.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>This progressive group exhibition features 4 artists who work with found materials, redefining\u00a0the realm of “trash art.” \u00a0Suprina upcycles materials into figurative pieces that address social injustices inflicted on marginalized groups. Jeffrey focuses on the reuse of materials involved in the process of creating. Gabriel combines elements of minimalism and punk attitude, remixing, slashing and transmuting unmatchable elements. Victoria investigates how fundamental changes in fabric can affect one\u2019s perception of\u00a0self-identity\u00a0and the psyche of an entire society.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will also be celebrating the installation of DNA Totem by Suprina<\/strong> in Marcus Garvey Park
\nfrom 4:30 to 6PM<\/span><\/span>, Enter at 120th and 5th and walk up the steps.<\/p>\n
