Join Triple Canopy and The Studio Museum in Harlem to celebrate the publication of On Value<\/em><\/a>, a multifarious book about the value of ephemeral artworks, and the labor and bodies that make them. Adam Pendleton,\u00a0On Value <\/em>contributor,\u00a0will be joined by choreographer and artist Ralph Lemon, who co-edited On Value <\/em>alongside Triple Canopy.\u00a0Lemon and Pendleton will discuss how they have each sought to transpose live events, whether dance performances or charged historical events, into publishable forms such as essays, visual artifacts, and print books.<\/p>\n

On April 29 at 7 PM<\/span><\/span> , head to the Union Theological Seminary to view\u00a0A Time to Break Silence<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>a film by artist Edgar Arceneaux<\/strong>\u00a0with live sound track by Underground Resistance Ray 7 and John Dixon.\u00a0In the feature-length film A Time To Break Silence<\/em>, presented as an installation, Arceneaux specifically links two events from the 1960s\u2014Dr. King\u2019s last major speech, \u201cBeyond Vietnam\u201d\u00a0and Stanley Kubrick\u2019s 2001: A Space Odyssey\u2014<\/em>as a means to ruminate on their legacies and implications for the future of American cities.<\/p>\n
