The festival runs at Film Society through <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">May 10<\/span><\/span> before heading to other venues around town.<\/p>\n<p>Digital Diaspora Family Reunion Roadshow is a powerful program that helps bridge perceived differences between people and transforms strangers into family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default\">People of all backgrounds are invited to bring family photos (on phones, Ipads or traditional prints) to the event for a chance to be one of the selected individuals asked to share their family stories, and in the process discover the links that underlie our common humanity as their photos are projected on a large screen for the audience. Those who want to come and simply watch the event as audience members are welcome too.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p class=\"default\">A special<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><i>Art &amp; Activism: Personal Journeys<\/i><\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/span>panel discussion with creatives from the African Diaspora including Thomas Allen Harris, photographer <strong>Delphine Fawundu,\u00a0<\/strong>musician\u00a0<strong>Ayoinmotion<\/strong>\u00a0and actress-educator <strong>Malika Lee Whitney<\/strong> will follow the interactive family reunion.<\/p>\n<p><em>The 2016 New York African Film Festival Town Hall Meeting<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Amphitheater at Film Society of Lincoln Center (in the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, May 1, 2016, 2:00pm \u2013 4:30pm<br \/>\n<\/strong>144 West 65<sup>th<\/sup> Street<br \/>\nNew York, NY 10023<\/p>\n<p class=\"default\">This event is free, but registration is requested.
