\"SAVANN<\/a><\/p>\n

We were asked recently to write a blog post about Savann and now after having dinner there two different times we thought we’d share our experience. \u00a0The first time we went it wasn’t very crowded as they had just opened and were still waiting on their liquor license and getting the word out. \u00a0The second visit the restaurant was busy and they were happy to let us know they have their liquor license. \u00a0It is great that they now have a full bar. \u00a0On a weekend night after a full work week the fist thing most customers want to order when they sit down is a cocktail. \u00a0I think this will really entice people to visit Savann and experience their cuisine. \u00a0The food was very good. \u00a0It was definitely different than anything else that we have here on Restaurant Row <\/span><\/a><\/span>in Harlem. \u00a0We found the price point to be a bit steep, but depending on what you order you can regulate your expenses. They already have a 4 and a half star rating on Yelp<\/a>. \u00a0Pretty impressive for a just newly opened restaurant.<\/p>\n

Stand outs here for us were the wilted Baby Spinach Salad<\/em> with goat cheese (see menu<\/span><\/a><\/span>) and the Shepherd Salad<\/em> which is a classic Turkish salad which you find in most Mediterranean restaurants. \u00a0I couldn’t help comparing many of the dishes to Turkuaz Restaurant on Broadway and 100th Street. \u00a0However, they are totally different from each other but not in a bad way just each individually unique. \u00a0From the bread to their wide variety in entrees. \u00a0Definitely a nice addition to Harlem.<\/p>\n

We have tried the Crispy Grilled Half A Duck, Stuffed Pork Loin, Oven-Roasted Boneless Chicken, Grilled Skirt Steak<\/em> and the Pan Seared Salmon<\/em>. \u00a0They are also vegetarian friendly with a Vegetable Strudel<\/em> and Penne with Vegetables<\/em> along with several vegetarian appetizers incuding Baked Portobello Mushroom<\/em> and Mint Zucchini Pancakes<\/em> and Beets<\/em> and Spinach<\/em> salads. \u00a0Of the entrees we enjoyed the Skirt Steak<\/em>, Salmon<\/em> and Stuffed Pork<\/em> the most. \u00a0The Stuffed Pork<\/em> is incredible stuffed with sun-dried tomato, sage. pine nuts; sweet potato puree, sauteed endive, prune-apricot sauce. \u00a0The combination of flavors are mouth watering and this dish is moderately priced at $18. \u00a0The Chicken<\/em> was good with skin nicely crisped and seasoned, however it says boneless on the menu and mine wasn’t boneless, priced at $16. \u00a0 The Grilled Skirt Steak<\/em> comes sliced with tasty sides though not a huge portion it’s seasoned very well and priced at $19. \u00a0The Grilled Half A Duck<\/em> is good, a healthy sized portion at $24. \u00a0They also have a Grilled Lamb Sirloin<\/em> at $24.<\/p>\n

For deserts they have a wide variety to select from. \u00a0The Chocolate Cake<\/em> with ice cream, Baklava<\/em> and Turkish Coffee Creme Brulee<\/em> are the stand out choices in our opinion. \u00a0The Turkish Creme Brulee<\/em>\u00a0was very unique and flavorful. \u00a0A perfect ending to a gourmet Mediterranean dinner.<\/p>\n

Savann has a Delivery Menu<\/span><\/a><\/span> and are doing very well with their home deliveries. \u00a0You can have a quality gourmet dinner delivered right to your home. \u00a0They are now serving Brunch<\/span><\/a><\/span> on the weekends 11 am – 5 pm. \u00a0 They are open 7 days a week Monday – Sunday for dinner 5 pm – 11 pm. \u00a0In the near future they plan on opening for lunch.<\/p>\n
