{"id":26323,"date":"2014-01-04T14:43:54","date_gmt":"2014-01-04T19:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/?p=26323"},"modified":"2014-01-04T14:49:12","modified_gmt":"2014-01-04T19:49:12","slug":"harlems-lenox-condominium-developer-sued-owners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/?p=26323","title":{"rendered":"Harlem&#8217;s Lenox Condominium developer is sued by owners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/therealdeal.com\/blog\/2014\/01\/03\/harlem-condo-board-takes-developer-to-task-over-alleged-construction-gaffes\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Harlem Real Estate via Harlem Condo Life\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lenox-condo.jpg\" width=\"456\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The board of managers of the Lenox condo building at 360 Lenox Avenue in Upper Manhattan is suing the former sponsor, an entity controlled by Lewis Futterman\u2019s Uptown Partners, over claims that the property is riddled with building code violations and rife with construction defects.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; color: #444444; line-height: 1.7;\">The suit was filed Dec. 31 in New York State Supreme Court. \u00a0Per the filing, the developer failed to provide residents who bought off floor plans in 2006 with units that met the guidelines of the original offering plan. \u00a0<\/span>Unit owners have spent up to $260,000 for repairs. \u00a0An additional $4 million is required. \u00a0The board is seeking a judgment against the sponsor for damages for fraud and breach of contract.<\/p>\n<p>The 77-unit, 12-story building launched sales in 2006. \u00a0The sponsors filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009.
