This milestone event will take place in the intimate, speakeasy setting of the series’ original venue,\u00a0<\/span>Gin Fizz Harlem<\/u><\/a>, and feature special live performances by\u00a0the captivating experimental jazz\/soul artist\u00a0<\/span>Melanie Charles<\/u><\/a><\/b>, alternative-soul maverick\u00a0<\/span>Leandra McNair<\/u><\/a><\/b>, and the overpowering and angelic singer\/songwriter\u00a0<\/span>Britanny Foushe\u00e9<\/u><\/a><\/b>.<\/div>\n

Event<\/span>\u00a0time is\u00a0<\/span>8PM<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and admission is $5 with an\u00a0RSVP\u00a0<\/span>here<\/u><\/a><\/b>. Admission is $10 at the door without an RSVP. Melanie Charles (aka D’flower) is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter,producer, flutist and actress of Haitian descent. A recent graduate of The New School for jazz and Contemporary Music, she has featured on albums alongside contemporary luminaries such as\u00a0<\/span>Gregory Porter<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Jose James<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Lakecia Benjamin<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Jesse Fischer<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Laura Izibor<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>and more. Leandra McNair is an American soul singer from New York. Her contemporary alternative soul has strong hip hop influences with a distinct jazz background, rooted in her studies in vocal performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. With influences from\u00a0<\/span>Stevie Wonder<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Marvin Gaye<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Aretha Franklin<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Janelle Monae<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Lauryn Hill<\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Swing out Sister<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>and even\u00a0<\/span>Joey Badass<\/b>, Leandra has crafted a sound that’s uniquely her own, writing all her songs using the ukelele. She released her debut EP \u2018Allura Luna\u2019 in 2013. In 2015 Leandra had the honor of singing backup vocals for the legendary\u00a0<\/span>Debbie Sledge<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>at the Standard Jazz club in Copenhagen. Later that year she was \u00a0invited back to perform her own show at the Standard for a\u00a0<\/span>Nat King Cole<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>Tribute with legends\u00a0<\/span>Alvin Queen<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Neils Lan Doky<\/b>.
