Established in 1995, the Harlem Renaissance Day of Commitment celebrates the history, culture and indomitable spirit of the Harlem Community.\u00a0 The Leadership Breakfast is a fundraising event for the Abyssinian Development Corporation <\/a>(ADC).\u00a0 This year\u2019s event will take place in <\/strong>Shepard Hall at City College<\/a> of the City University of New York.\u00a0 New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, along with hundreds of New York\u2019s most influential business, civic, philanthropic and<\/p>\n

political leaders are expected to join host Reverend Dr. Calvin O. Butts, III<\/a>, ADC\u2019s Founder and Chairman and the Pastor of Abyssinian Baptist Church<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Abyssinian Development Corporation is the nationally renowned not-for-profit organization launched more than 20 years ago by one of Harlem\u2019s most famous churches, the Abyssinian Baptist Church. \u00a0This comprehensive community development corporation has played an important role in revitalizing the socioeconomic fabric of the Harlem community throughout its impressive history of developing quality affordable housing, spearheading commercial development, fostering education, strengthening families and building community capacity through civic engagement.
