On Sunday, December 5, from 3-5 PM <a href=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/?s=bier+international\" target=\"_blank\">bier international<\/a> will be having St. Nikolaus visit \u00a0so that kids can have an opportunity to meet him and have their stocking stuffed with a treat.<\/p>\n<div>According to bier, the tradition of St. Nikolaus Day, usually on December 6, is a festival for children in many European countries. It finds its roots in legends dating back to the year 346 when\u00a0Nikolaos of Myra,\u00a0a saint and Greek Bishop was reputed to hand out gifts secretly.\u00a0 He became the model for Santa Claus whose English name derives from the Dutch Sinterklaas.\u00a0It&#8217;s a European tradition that can be enjoyed universally by kids of all nationalities.<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/38225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9731\" title=\"38225\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/38225.jpg?w=225\" height=\"300\" width=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/38225.jpg 261w, http:\/\/harlemcondolife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/38225-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the annual <a href=\"http:\/\/support.centralparknyc.org\/site\/Calendar\/381679270?view=Detail&amp;id=112081\" target=\"_blank\">Victorian Holiday Lighting<\/a> will be taking place at Harlem Meer on Sunday, December 5 from 3-5 PM as well.\u00a0The event culminates with the lighting of thousands of tiny LED lights strung along the architectural features of Central Park&#8217;s northernmost visitor center, the Victorian-style\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralparknyc.org\/visit\/things-to-see\/north-end\/charles-a-dana-discovery-center.html\" target=\"_self\">Charles A. Dana Discovery Center<\/a>. \u00a0A camera is highly recommended for this event.<\/p>\n<p>So there is plenty to see and do on December 5.
