I was first introduced to Amy Ruth’s at a wine tasting party hosted by Harlem Vintage and held at Amy Ruth’s. For the lucky few who were fortunate to take part in this festive gala, it was a beautiful combination of good wine and tasty food and I hope there is another one sometime soon. I have been going back to Amy Ruth’s ever since. Everything on the menu is good but I seem to order the same dinner every time as it has become a craving: the Southern Honey-Dipped Fried Chicken with a side of Collard Greens and Baked Macaroni & Cheese. For dessert the Peach Cobbler is delicious! They are known to have a short line from time to time as they do not take reservations but it is worth the wait and the line goes quickly. It must be true as the saying goes “food for the soul” because every time I leave there I have a smile on my face.
