New Indian Restaurant “Maharaja Palace” opening next week on FDB in Harlem

IMG 11121 1024x768 New Indian Restaurant Maharaja Palace opening next week on FDB in Harlem

We first blogged a month ago about a new Indian restaurant coming to FDB in Harlem.  The owner reached out to us yesterday and it appears they will be opening as soon as the week of May 21st – 26th.  Next week!  Exact day yet to be determined depending on the completion of their construction.

Maharaja Palace also located on the East Side on Madison Avenue, will offer a large selection of classic Indian dishes.  For all of you vegetarians out there they also offer a large selection of vegetarian dishes.  Reasonably priced for the standards with the priciest items on the menu their Tandori specialties which is normally the case with Indian restaurants.  Here is a peek at their Tandori Specialties

They are located in the old Questans space on Frederick Douglass Boulevard (westside of the ave.) between 114th and 115th Streets.  With Jado Sushi across the street, Melbas on the adjacent corner, Frederick Bistro Cafe, Harlem Food Bar and Bier International less than a block away, Maharaja Palace will now add a much needed Indian restaurant into the mix.  Stay tuned for more information, photos and their new menu from HarlemCondoLife.com next week!

Trending in Harlem: Vestibules

I first noticed this trend when visiting Amy Ruth’s when I first moved to Harlem. Then a few years ago as Harlem Tavern settled into the neighborhood. And now more recently with several nabe newbies – hip local watering hole Harlem Food Bar and the elegant and tasty Jado Sushi.

The concept of extending the indoors to the out-of-doors in a modest or spectacular yet always tasteful and utilitarian manner is on point in Harlem!

67 ORANGE STREET NYE PARTY!

More Harlem Hot Spots to consider are Corner Social (ad above), L Lounge (was told they will have a DJ spinning), The 5 and Diamond (listed below), 67 Orange Street (make a reservation space limited), Bier International, Cove Lounge, Ricardos, Billie’s Black, Cedric Bistro (Dinner is sold out but come in after 11pm to have drinks and fun), Harlem Tavern, Red Rooster and Ginny’s Supper Club.  New kids on the block Jado Sushi, Harlem Food Bar, and Maison Harlem are all three great suggestions as well.

It might be a difficult night to “bar hop” as many of the places listed  are reservations only for New Years Eve.  But make the rounds and try your luck if you do not have a reservation.  It’s not too late with many of these places to make your reservation though today. I know we have left many places out.  If we have, call and make sure they are open and celebrating tonight.  I believe Melbas is closed tonight for NYE but will be open for New Years Day.  Perfect hangover food!

2013 is going to be a great year I can just feel it!  So let’s get it started off right by bringing in the New Year TONIGHT IN HARLEM!!!
