About Kersten Stevens

There’s a sound, a musical spiritedness, that transcends the boundaries of contemporary music and transforms the listener from the inside out. Kersten Stevens is a uniquely dedicated artist whose fusion of jazz and gospel discovers this powerful balance between art and sensibility.

Anointed, electrifying and passionate, Kersten has opened for President Barack Obama, the legendary Ray Charles, Denzel Washington, and performed with world-renowned jazz violinist and her mentor Regina Carter. Kersten is a graduate from Yale University with a BA in Music and African American Studies. A three-time Amateur Night at the Apollo winner and a three-time “Showtime at the Apollo” champion, she currently serves the Apollo Theater as the on-camera personality and social media correspondent for Amateur Night at the Apollo.

Thursday, August 16 Kersten unveils cuts from her forthcoming album INSPIRE ME in the intimate, culinary setting of Harlem’s 5 and Diamond Restaurant.

About The 5 and Diamond Restaurant

Part of Manhattan’s culinary world has rooted itself in one of the most cutting edge neighborhoods in NYC—Harlem. The 5 and Diamond Restaurant is located on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, referred to as the new “Restaurant Row” by the New York Times.

The 5 and Diamond Restaurant offers refined contemporary American fare and genuine Harlem hospitality. Chef David Martinez prepares food with passion — combining fresh seasonal ingredients and bold flavors with a refined presentation. He is committed to local, organic produce and is inspired by his culinary experience here and in Europe. The 5 and Diamond Restaurant is upscale casual with large windows, sexy lighting, vibrant floral arrangements and soft jazzy music in the background. It is an easy place to drop in at any time. Dine alone at the intimate bar, or enjoy a drink or meal while watching your favorite sports event. Come with friends and family to celebrate, or have a romantic dinner for two. Just remember to leave enough room for the decadent desserts, all made in-house.
