Robert Graham funeral held

Graham PhotoBy HarlemGal

On Saturday,  a funeral was held in Los Angeles for the late Robert Graham. Graham created the Duke Ellington Memorial in Harlem, which stands 30 feet tall high with three columns topped with muses holding up a giant size figure of the musician next to a piano. You have to see it for yourself! It’s amazing to see. The sculpture is located at the cross section of 110th Street and 5th Avenue.

For us at HarlemCondoLife, we want to thank Graham for his contribution to our community. We are forever grateful!

PIZZERIA 123

This great little affordable pizza & burger joint has been in business for 6 years and is a neighborhood favorite.  For a perfect cheese slice and delicious House Salad topped with Balsamic Vinegar (Salad “123″) for only $4.95 you can’t go wrong.  Their burgers are great and you can substitute the regular fries that come with the Deluxe order, to their Curly Spice Fries that are sinfully good.  Love the staff and the casual environment.  I’ve never had a bad meal here, I have to give props to how well managed this establishment is.

Note: They have 6 lunch specials daily ranging from $2.75 to $7.50.

Who Represents You? HarlemCondoLife has the answer.

By HarlemGuy.

The New York Times recently unveiled a new site called Represent which we find particularly relevant and useful given the recent US Presidential election and ensuing political changes.

It’s a simple, slick, elegant site allowing you to easily identify which political districts you live in based on an address.  It includes highly detailed maps showing where you live and how you fit into the political geography of the City.  Most importantly it shows who represents you at different levels of government in an easily digestible and accessible manner.

In addition, it collects information from around the Web and presents a customized stream of news about your representatives and what they are doing. Content is derived from New York Times stories and blog posts pulling references to public officials. The site also draws from official data sources such as Congressional roll-call votes.

Knowing who represents you, what they are up to, and how to reach them, is more important than ever.   Please check out the site and let us know what you think and what you learn.

Harlem's Atomic Wings Featured in the NY Post

By HarlemGal

ent0aWe couldn’t help notice the big smiles and feature article in Wednesday’s edition of the NY Post. The Post reported how there is a surge of wings happening in New York City – chicken wings that is! The article also notes Atomic Wings and their expansion in Harlem. HarlemCondoLife blogged about their new place on 113th and Frederick Douglas Blvd. a few weeks back; and have sat down to munch on their wings. They get a thumbs up from us! It’s so good we better go in tomorrow and put in our Super Bowl order!

Congrats to Atomic Wings owners Hugh Webb and James Brown on their media coverage in the Post!
