ROOSEVELT ISLAND — Cornell Tech, touted as the first campus built for the digital age, officially opened its first phase Wednesday with some of the world’s most energy-efficient buildings and aspirations to turbocharge the city’s tech sector.
“This helps bring New York City back to the future,” said former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who helped spearhead efforts to create the campus.
