Harlem’s one and only Sundae Sermon is back this weekend.
Hosted by Bevy Smith and Michaela Angela Davis.
Featuring DJ Stormin Norman, Adeva, Louie Vega, Nomsa Nomisupasta Mazwai and Kevin Hedge.
Come uptown and join the fun! It should be stone cold gas!
Sundae Sermon is back this Sunday in Harlem!
Hosted by Bevy Smith (Bravo Fashion Queens).
Featuring a special performance by the cast of Mighty Real showcasing the life of dance music’s one and only Sylvester. And of course music by our favorite DJ Stormin’ Norman and his friends.
For those of you not familiar with Sylvester, know this. On September 20, 2004, Sylvester’s anthem record, “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real),” was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame. A year later, on September 19, 2005, Sylvester himself was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame for his achievement as an artist. An activist who campaigned against the spread of HIV/AIDS, Sylvester died from complications arising from the virus in 1988. HOWEVER – his trailblazing style and his love of life and music lives on in events like Sundae Sermon. Which is one of the many reasons why Sundae Sermon matters.
We hope the community’s love for this event – recently featured in a leading NYC publication thanks to Michael Feeney, helped in some small way to tip the scales in the event’s favor.
Sundae Sermon is back this Sunday, August 25th with Sundae Sermon Rocks The Boat! This is a special event with music by DJ’s on the Upper & Lower Decks. DJ Stormin’ Norman, DJ Kervyn Mark and DJ Ray Vasquez on the Floor 1 spinning classic house, disco etc., and Floor 2 with hip hop, R&B and reggae by DJ Cosi, DJ Herbert Holler and Qool Marv.
Tickets are $35 in advance or $45 at the door. Leaving from Pier 83 at 42nd St at 6:15 pm. Returning at 11 PM. Portion of proceeds benefit food bank for NYC and Sundae Sermon Radio / WHCR 90.3 FM. See you there…
GOOD MUSIC FOR GOOD PEOPLE!
The change of venue didn’t deter the crowds at the first Sundae Sermon of the 2013 season…in fact there were more good people grooving to good music than ever.
On a gorgeous sunny Sunday, St Nicholas Park resounded with pumping dance beats spun by legendary dj’s Louie Vega, Kevin Hedge and, of course, Stormin’ Norman himself. Folks swaying, kids playing, everyone meeting and greeting–Sundae Sermon is truly a Harlem classic. See you at the next one!

Good Music – Good People!
DJ Stormin’ Norman’s fabulous Sundae Sermon brought the happy party people once again to Morningside Park this past Sunday with incomparable guest DJ’s Louie Vega and Kevin Hedge. It was another packed house and perfect weather!
Unfortunately this was the last Summer 2012 event on the Hill in Harlem but Norman hinted that they are looking to have a final blast in another park in the next couple weeks so definitely check the website for further details.
Sundae Sermon is back this coming Sunday August 26th at 2 – 7pm. We are very happy to hear that it will be held in Morningside Park at it’s usual location. This Sunday will feature DJ MKL, DJ Tommy Bones, DJ Des Uno alongside DJ Stormin’ Norman. Located on Morningside Drive (upper level) and 114th Street Harlem, New York. Just look for the large crowd listening and dancing to great soulful house, classics and afroBeats… you’ll find it.
Bring a picnic basket and your family your friends or come by yourself, this event is for everyone. Last Sundae Sermon in July was very crowded and I assume this one will be to, so if you want to set up a spot on the lawn come early.
