We were the first to christen 8th ave from 110th to 125th Harlem Restaurant Row. We are pleased to write that Harlem is part of yet another trend. Harlem is now a premiere destination for the filming of all sorts – from music videos to tv/cable programming, movies, etc.
Just today Elementary was setup to film on 114th between 8th and 9th.

What a great idea. Fresh, quality sushi dinner coupled with a bottle of wine in the comfort of your home.
Jado Sushi in Harlem is excited to announce that they are begining a delivery service on Monday the 12th!!
But don’t stop there. They can also pickup wines from The Winery for you and deliver them with the food. Just call The Winery at 212-222-4866 to place an order. Let the sales staff know that your order should go with the food. They will take care of the rest. To see the selection of wines, go to www.thewineryonline.com

The Gateway Tower
The Gateway Tower on Frederick Douglass Boulevard between 113th and 114th Street was hit by the hard hurricane winds of Sandy and their green awning collapsed. A couple of the unit owners and doormen of the building secured it down during the storm with rope so that it wouldn’t get damaged or hurt any passers by. Right next door to The Gateway is Harlem Food Bar and Frederick Cafe Bistro which the awning runs along as well.
We are told there was roof damage from hurricane sandy to a couple of the penthouse terraces and metal siding at the Gateway Tower as well. I’m sure many other building here in Harlem have damages from the storm. Hopefully no major collapses and damages came from the 90 mph winds.

Early this morning on my way to work (7:30am) I walked by a film crew on Frederick Douglass Boulevard and 114th Street. Right across from Melba’s where something else was just filming a month ago, yet another film crew was setting up getting ready to film something today. Does anybody know what???
UPDATE: (At 4:30pm Thursday.) Thanks for writing in to us with the information of what is being filmed. Apparently they are filming an episode of Person Of Interest a TV series on Thursday nights at 9pm. (CBS)
A couple of our HCL readers said they saw the actor Jim Caviezel filming today also known for many other different roles such as My Private Idaho, Pay It Forward, The Passion of the Christ and Transit just to name a few.
Thank you for sending these photos to us at Harlem Condo Life. We really appreciate it! See more pics below of 113th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard in front of Harlem Food Bar. Looking forward to seeing Harlem as the background on season 2 of Person Of Interest.
