We ate at The Park 112 last Wednesday and cannot say enough good things about it. We were impressed with the menu, drinks, service and ambiance. To start with the place is nicely lit has a nice size bar, great drinks and the music was good too. For drinks I had the Park 112 and my husband The Upper Manhattan. For the appetizer I had the Jerk Lollipops and followed them with the Red Snapper tacos. Both were delicious. My husband started with the carrot and coconut soup and then had the chicken roll. He enjoyed both of them a lot. While we were there we were asked a couple of times by different staff members if all was well. We met the manager at the end and he was very nice too. We had a very enjoyable meal and time at The Park 112 and we welcome great food and service to Harlem Restaurant Row! We wish you much success as it is well deserved.

I had brunch this past weekend at Bier International in Harlem. The food was excellent as always. I had the scrambled eggs with hummus, pita wedges and a green salad. My husband had his favorite, the Portuguese Linguica and Scrambled Eggs Fajitas. His was served with guacamole and baby organic greens as well. This place never misses on food, however this time the service was lacking and we reflected it in our tip. This has been one of our favorite places in Harlem since they opened, so this is why we were surprised by our server. Unfortunately, the owners Ousmane Keita and Chris Pollok were not there this day. One or both of them are usually there and two of the nicest guys in Harlem.
This being said, our waitress gave us menus but took a while to come by to take our order and it was not because she was busy. We placed our order which included a juice for my husband. My coffee came but we had to call her over and remind her about the juice which had been at the service area for some time. We saw a table of 5 near us that had menus but they got up and left due to her lack of service. Besides great food Bier International is in my opinion the best kid friendly place on the boulevard. This might have to do with the fact that both Chris and Ousmane have kids of their own. The food is consistently good and normally so is the service. This is why I wanted to share my experience.
We look forward to many more great meals there with our infant daughter.

Cantina 1838 located at 1838 Adam Clayton Powell has a great happy hour. The restaurant has a nice size bar, offers good service, food and drinks. You can’t go wrong with $2.00 tacos and $4.00 beers and margaritas during their happy hour from 4-7 pm. We had the chicken, fish and pork tacos along with beer and margaritas.
I am looking forward to dinner there next as they have a great menu including short rib burritos and lobster and chipotle tacos to name a few. If you are looking for a great “Happy Hour” and authentic Mexican food in Harlem you should definitely try it out. Here is their MENU.

I recently had lunch at Kichenette Uptown in Harlem with my husband and 9 week old daughter and loved it. Granted it was a week day so we did not have to wait but the food was as good as always and definitely worth the wait had there been a line.
I had the Tuna Melt with cheddar and tomato on a homemade English muffin which was delicious. My husband had the Turkey Rueben served on rye with coleslaw which was just as delicious. Their hot sandwiches are served with a choice of garlic fries, coleslaw, a field green salad or mashed butternut squash.
We love Kitchenette because besides having delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and milkshakes they are very kid friendly. They have Kids’ Birthday Parties where children can decorate their own cupcakes, cookies or make ice cream sundaes. Makes me wish I was a kid again!

I recently dined at Isola Restaurant located at 994 Columbus Avenue (108/109th streets) and it was great! Sicilian born Sebastiano Cappitta relocated it from the Upper West Side and the restaurant is large and has outdoor seating.
Isola has a wood-fire brick oven where they cook fabulous home-made pastas and pizza. We had a margherita thin-crust pizza to begin with along with the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella appetizer and the fried calamari which the waitress recommended. Normally, I am not a fried calamari fan but it was fresh and delicious. For dinner I had the Parpadelle Ai Funghi Porcini and Truffle pasta (which is now my favorite dish there) and the rest of my party had the Fettuccine alla Bolognese, the Ravioli with spinach and ricotta, the Lasagna al forno and the chicken dish. All were home made pastas and were yummy! We topped it off with 2 delicious desserts. One was a chocolate molten dessert and the other a crepe with bananas and nutella.
They have a full bar and a great wine selection. The service was excellent, the prices reasonable, and the manager was visible and stopped by our table. I heard they have a great brunch I look forward to stopping by for it.
