A long term Harlem resident (and good friend of mine) Nate Lombardi is “empowering kids to find their passions through interactive and artistic projects with professionals. To let them feel how better it is to lift each other up!”
The Groovy Projects is a company that empowers students and their teachers to understand how lifting up their peers feels worlds better than breaking them down. It seeks to educate them on how to deal with bullying in order to make it stop. “Groovy Projects” include interactive student presentations (and training), art/song contests, DVDs, CD games, short movies, and music videos. The mission is to enlist some of New York City’s most talented visionaries an to “mold thousands… millions… BILLIONS of children’s perspectives on how to live a positive, encouraging and fulfilling life. We will get these kids excited and involved about creating inspiring art while doing good!”

This weekend the Real Estate Board of New York is having the first-ever Upper Manhattan Open House Expo featuring homes for sale in Harlem, from the Hudson River to the East River. WABC TV NY news has taken notice, saying: “Harlem is hot!”, as reporter Kemberly Richardson covered the details in the video below. Uptown brokers will showcase exclusive co-op, condo, brownstone and townhouse listings in East Harlem, West Harlem and Central Harlem on Saturday and Sunday. The meet-up location is The Corner Social restaurant at 321 Lenox Avenue on the corner of West 126th Street.

Members of REBNY’s Upper Manhattan Committee will kick off the Expo at 9:30 a.m. with an informational session and remain on-hand to assist house-hunters in choosing from more than 25 exclusive open house offerings to view based on their specific needs. At 11 a.m. the brokers will disperse to their respective listings to host viewings until 3 pm.
