We attended the season finale of the Sweet Spot Festival at Pier I on 70th st. The music was pumpin’, folks were dancin’ and Kevin Hedge ended the night pumpin’ the the beats and rockin’ the house.

This event epitomizes why we live and love New York City.  There is no place like it.  Period.

We look forward to next Summer’s events including those taking place in Harlem.

Memories…

On our way.

Rockin’ the house.

Up close and personal – with our friend CC who did a great job with the event and who is involved with the very important Black Girls Rock.

On our way out – the view East from the pier.

Harlem Grooves Series is a series featuring a variety of music and art.  We decided to feature artists for our covers for this Harlem Grooves series to support local artists along with local guest DJs podcasts which we will feature here in the months to come.  Harlem has a wide range of established artists as well as many up and coming new artists making their mark.  This cover for Harlem Grooves Vol 1 & 2 is by Shea Sullivan.  She is an artist, studied fashion at Parsons, graphic designer, blogger and during the day a corporate fashionista.  Vol 1 & 2 were compiled & mixed by RhythmDB for HCL (HarlemCondoLife)

The change of venue didn’t deter the crowds at the first Sundae Sermon of the 2013 season…in fact there were more good people grooving to good music than ever.

On a gorgeous sunny Sunday, St Nicholas Park resounded with pumping dance beats spun by legendary dj’s Louie Vega, Kevin Hedge and, of course, Stormin’ Norman himself.  Folks swaying, kids playing, everyone meeting and greeting–Sundae Sermon is truly a Harlem classic. See you at the next one!

As if you already needed a reason to check out the scene at Red Rooster in Harlem, now with DJ Stormin Norman spinning this Friday night? Well, just get there early because it is going to be a full house!  Everytime that I have been to Red Rooster waiting at the bar for my table to be ready, when it is ready I silently feel like saying “Oh, but I am having so much fun here at the bar!”  So now you can come into the bar and have fun with DJ Stormin’ Norman spinning upstairs the best Soul, Latin, Classics, Hip Hop, House, Funk and so much more the whole evening.   I have plans downtown Friday night (that I cannot get ut of) but I am passing through just to see and hear at least some of Norman’s set.  See you there!!!
