Description

E-Book Series

“Chloe the Yogi: The Amusement Park is the first edition of a five book series of electronic yoga adventure books that mirror the experience of a children’s yoga class. The story featuring Chloe the Yogi is an engaging vehicle for learning yoga poses and reinforcing the emotional support that children get through stretching, breathing, and role playing. Designed for the iPad, the Chloe the Yogi E-Book series was created as an answer to parents’ desire to see and experience what their children are learning in the increasingly popular yoga classes offered for children. It is the first book designed specifically to be enjoyed through electronic devices where both the child and the parent can benefit from seeing the movement in and out of the pose. The Chloe the Yogi E-book series is tailored toward children ages 3-7 and their parents.”

This version of  “Strange Fruit” by Nina Simone channels what many feel during racial times from years gone by to current controversial issues such as the Trayvon Martin shooting.  See the link below for the lyrics (controversial to many) and songwriters credits.  Billie Holiday’s original version was the popular version of this jazz classic.  It is equally if not better than Nina’s version but this rendition adds such a darkness and extra edgy realness that haunts your awareness.

If you do not already have a collection of Nina Simone’s music, treat yourself and go to iTunes and listen through her incredible career and legacy.  I thought I had almost everything by her, but just downloaded two albums I’d never heard before.

Time.com

With so many videos and comments the past couple of weeks about the Harlem Shake, I was wondering if any of these videos with millions of views on Youtube are making any money?

I came across this article today by Victor Luckerson, a reporter-producer for Time.com covering business and money, who writes a clear explanation about the copyright and who is getting what from the Harlem Shake frenzy.  The exact amount is unknown at this time but will most likely take the lead over last years “Gangnam Style, viral sensation that earned Korean pop star Psy and his handlers a reported $870.000 from YouTube as revenue.”

Mainly he writes  “Baauer and his label get some of the ad revenue, as does Youtube.  The people shooting the videos get no money because they are using copyrighted content.”

ITunes sales have sky rocketed with Baauer’s Harlem Shake single, topping the iTunes charts and recently debuted at No. 3 in the UK singles charts.
