Harlem Park To Park Presents Its Third Annual Harlem Harvest Festival
With Activities And Events For the Whole Family
September 29, 2012 – Harlem, NY – Whether you’re a foodie, a yoga enthusiast, aspiring dancer or family looking for fun activities to keep the little ones busy, you can find it at this year’s Harlem Harvest Festival. Harlem Park to Park, a community improvement association in Central Harlem, the hub for New York City’s premiere dining, shopping and nightlife destinations north of 110th street, will present its third annual Harlem Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 6, from 10am to 4pm. The event will take place in A. Phillip Randolph Square at St. Nicholas Avenue, between 116th and 117th streets, as the kick off event for Harlem Park to Park’s annual Oktoberfest.
The Harlem Harvest Festival, which drew more than 2,700 attendees last year, has grown even more this year with vendor participation including businesses from Central and East Harlem, as well as upstate farms and wineries. Bread Alone, Horman’s Pickles, Brooklyn Cured Sausage, Breezy Hill Farm, Knoll Crest Farm, Cider Hill Farm, Glebocki Farm, Thousand Island Winery, Community Markets, Cabot Cheese will all participate, along with performances by the Dance Theater of Harlem, live music from a salsa band, and great activities for the kids. Also featured is the annual cook-off event, this year featuring the “Battle of the Avenues” pitting Lenox Avenue restaurants, Sylvia’s and Corner Social and for Frederick Douglas Blvd., 67 Orange and Harlem Tavern. The restaurants will square off on omelets and entrées.
“The Festival has become a wonderful way to showcase the best of our amazing local businesses, not only to our neighbors, but also to the rest of the city as we invite everyone to travel uptown and experience first-hand one of New York City’s most exciting new shopping, dining, and nightlife destinations,” said Nikoa Evans-Hendricks, Executive Director of Harlem Park to Park. The organization has played a crucial role in raising the level of visibility for the businesses in the community.

Not one but two new podcasts with ultra chill music for those lazy afternoons or peaceful weekend getaways. Great for yoga, winding down after work or bedtime music to help you relax. In many parts throughout these mixes you will hear beat-less grooves and ambient music with the occasional percussion coming in here and there. It is great for meditation and in parts sounds like a soundtrack or music for film. Both mixes start and end with the sound of waves rolling in. You will hear classical songs, electronic, mellow jazz, ambient, opera, down-tempos and a mix of relaxing world music.
