The Associated Press reported on Sunday that Robert Graham, the Mexican/American sculptor who created the Duke Ellington Sculpture at 110th Street and 5th Avenue in East Harlem, died on Saturday at the age of 70. Graham designed a number of works all over the U.S., but for Harlem he designed the famous piece that now stands tall at the Duke Ellington Memorial Circle.
