What can I say about Nectar Wine Bar.  This new hot spot created by owners Eric Woods & Jai Jai Greenfield has created a gathering for those of us uptown, and everywhere, that have been craving a good wine bar.  It has been crowded since it opened April 2008 offering a wide range of wines from their sister shop Harlem Vintage located next door.  They provide a minimal menu of cheeses, meats & hummus to accent their wines.  This is a very nice touch without distracting from this Bar’s main purpose, which of course is the wine.  This place is great for relaxing after work to chillout music as well as keeping you entertained on Saturday nights with House music until closing.  When I asked why did you decide on the location of Frederick Douglass Boulevard, Eric who has been a resident of Harlem for 11 years, said “Frederick Douglass Boulevard is going to be the new area for restaurants, bars, & nightlife and we wanted to provide a place for the people in the neighborhood to enjoy themselves.” They truly have succeeded in their goal with Nectar and its friendly staff, diverse wines, great crowd, and an overall welcoming vibe that has made it a favorite destination in the neighborhood.
