Jazz at the Crypt

For a unique musical experience check out Cilla Owens this Friday, June 24 at the historic Church of the Intercession (155th Street and Broadway, 212-283-6200) for “Listen to the Monk:  Classics from the Book Of BeBop and Other Rhythmic Tales”.  It’s part of the new music series, Jazz At The Crypt.  Joining Cilla will be Glafkos “GK” Kontemeniotis on piano, Ed Kollar on bass, Tony Lewis on drums, and Sylvester Scott on sax and flute.  Performances are at 8 and 9:30 pm; donation is $20.  Bring a bottle of your favorite wine (other refreshments will be available), settle in at a candlelit table, and enjoy the show!

  1. On November 18, 2011, The Church of The Intercession returns to the “good old days” with “Jazz at the Crypt” featuring performances by Jazz artists Maria Carrie-Lord, Levern Williams, the big band sounds of the Roger Lent Trio and swing dancing with “Ola and the Professionals.

  2. Cilla Owens is a phenomenal singer. I wish I could study with her! Had to have been a fantastic show.
