Cooling Down When Harlem Is Heating Up

By tharealharlemista                                                                                                                    The oppressive heat in Harlem this week is no joke. Go into the 125th st subway station and it feels like you’re bathing in Hell. Bring a fan. And lots of water.

Hopefully some folks are spending the day at community pools, watching multiple features at the Magic Johnson Theatre or enjoying the many air conditioned restaurants and drinking establishments uptown.

Or maybe if you’re lucky, you can find an open fire hydrant like this one on 122nd St off Frederick Douglass Blvd and cool down like a kid (or a kid at heart).

If all else fails and you want to find a cooling center near you, call 311 or use the OEM’s online Cooling Center Finder.
