Writers are invited to submit ten-minute plays, short scenes or monologues about the upcoming presidential election. Subject matter can include any aspect of the political process: the issues, civic life, government, leadership, public service, voting, etc. Diversity of opinions from all points on the political spectrum are welcome.
Accepted works will be read at a free, public event hosted by Dr. Barbara Ann Teer’s National Black Theatre (2031-33 Fifth Avenue, between 125th and 126th Streets) on Monday, October 29th from 7:30-10:30pm ( originally scheduled for September 28th).
“Writing the Election 2012” is sponsored by Classical Theatre of Harlem and New Black Fest and is being produced by Twinbiz, Harlem playwright Yvette Heyliger’s production company.
