If you are looking to get more involved with the Harlem community you are invited to the West Harlem Local Development Corporation’s Public Meeting on Oct. 25, 2012.
As you may know, the West Harlem Local Development Corporation is responsible for implementing the Community Benefits Agreement that was signed with Columbia University on May 18, 2009. At the Public Meeting, we will discuss the progress of the West Harlem Local Development Corporation, including the recent launch of a progressive, non-discriminatory and family-supportive school. We also will update you about workforce opportunities relating to the expansion project of Columbia University. In partnership with Columbia’s Government and Community Affairs Office, we will outline our plans to seek the community’s input on preparing for future industries that may be attracted to Harlem. Community Board 9 also will make a presentation of their activities.
