The year 2016 marks 10 years since the West Harlem Art Fund (WHAF) presented a public artwork in Marcus Garvey Park, located in the Mt. Morris Historic District in H arlem. To celebrate this anniversary, WHAF has selected Bronx-based street artist Lady K Fever to mount an installation using various reflective materials throughout the entire park and leading visitors to the top of the acropolis. All Along the Watchtower is inspired by the actual song written by Bob Dylan and recorded by Dylan and legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
According to the artist Kathleena Howie, (also known as Lady K Fever), “We are going to make the park SPARKLE! Light strips will be installed in multiple designs throughout the park on wroth iron fences and near small gardens reflecting sound waves, musical rhythms and the bell tower ringing.”
Executive Director & Chief Curator Savona Bailey-McClain shares “I am thrilled to come back to Marcus Garvey Park. And the timing couldn’t be more perfect with a feature film coming out in 2017 on the life of Marcus Garvey”. Such projects furthers her hopes for public art districts throughout the City with works that speak to the landscape and vitality of New York’s urban life. This effort would be in partnership with such agencies as the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation and NYC’s Department of Transportation.

Installation for All Along the Watchtower will occur August 2016 with special programming .
