If you get the chance, don’t miss the exhibition celebrating legendary photographer, filmmaker, musician and writer Gordon Park’s centenary year (he would have turned 100 on November 30th , 2012) at The Studio Museum of Harlem.
Director and Chief Curator Thelma Golden and Assistant Curator Lauren Haynes’ Gordon Parks: A Harlem Family 1967, features black and white photographs of the Fontenelle family, whose lives Parks documented as part of a 1968 Life magazine photo essay. It’s an intimate history, capturing the gritty essence of another time in Harlem.
The show runs through March 10th.
