New York is developing a thriving biotech industry, especially in Manhattan. Harlem is a cornerstone of that effort.
The city’s plan includes providing life sciences startups with inexpensive suitable workspaces. That includes the Alexandria Center for Life Science on the East Side that will house firms like Amgen and Pfizer. And now, Harlem Biospace – a 2,300-square-foot incubator on West 127th Street that can support 24 companies and which offers them small office space and wet-lab access.
The Harlem space is the model for what the City hopes will be 16 additional biotech spaces by the end of this year.
