A Musical Tribute in Harlem

On May 28, 2010, a tribute to the Honorable Percy Sutton and Mr. Bill Tatum will be held at the Apollo Theater.  The event is sponsored by the Gouverneur Parents Association who recognizes and appreciates the efforts of these two men in their support for individuals with disabilities.  The mission of the parent group is to ensure that the rights and privileges of disabled citizens are promoted through the concept of “inclusion.”  People with developmental/physical disabilities enjoy and contribute to, daily community living experiences. The event will feature the musical talents of Flame and Potential Unlimited Productions, Inc.

Flame, is a rock band consisting of 11 individuals with a variety of developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities.  They perform at local, national, and international venues.  Their popularity demonstrates the accomplishments of people with disabilities.

Potential Unlimited Productions, Inc. (PUP) is a non-profit organization that arranges opportunities in the performing arts, for individuals with disabilities.  PUP strives to provide an access for artists to reveal their skills and talent.  Their efforts through public awareness, assists in reinforcing an understanding and acceptance of people with developmental disabilities.
