Harlem suffers from a paucity of choices for fresh foods and vegetables and an abundance of fast food options – a combination sometimes referred to as a “food desert.” The Harlem4 Center for Change, a community-based not-for-profit organization, is spearheading a coalition of groups in a “Food Movement” to address this issue. Join them this Saturday, October 9th, for THE HARLEM HARVEST FESTIVAL FRESH FOOD SUMMIT. that same $20 u spend on fast food can buy u fruits&vegetables, use the rice u have at home or potatoes or pasta and some chicken breast and u have urself a healthy meal for cheap. do ur research and u will see, education is key.
nevertheless, i think this is a great idea and im looking forward to all the new markets and fresh food that will be coming to harlem.
Sad to say but it’s a matter of economics. You can feed a family of 4 under $20 in any fast food joint.
I spend that alone on vegetables when I shop at my local places and we
we are just 2 people, then add everything else and time.

money for healthy living.
We. Live on 129th and Lenox we are in need of gourmet foods. Bagels, tasti d lite and upscale everything. Whoever opens up this way will get great tax credits and lots of upscale business..
