On this important day more good news about the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington DC.
The memorial represents the first time in history that a non US president and man of colour is represented.
Days like this remind me of how lucky I am to be living at a time when so many wonderful firsts are being acknowledged, created – and envisioned (as the work is far from complete).
I am pleased to live in Harlem which is at the center of many civil rights historical threads.
Please take a few moments today to relive Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech. It’s a great family activity.

Happy Birthday Dr. King.
