Bier International Presents… St. Nikolaus

This Sunday, December 9, Santa is coming to Bier International!

Recently I stopped by Bier International with friends for drinks and had a great talk with Ousmane Keita, co-owner of Bier International. We discussed many things about the Harlem community and businesses sprouting up here and there on FDB and the surrounding neighborhood. With a cadence of its own, Bier International is no exception to the reviving energy in Harlem. Since opening day they have hit the ground running and were the first (or one of the first) places to offer sidewalk seating. They always have something going on at Bier International whether it is celebrating the holidays, presenting various musicians or their famous Oktoberfest which they call OktoBIERfest. This is a proper celebration in full spirit and tradition right down to a slowly roasted pig in front of the restaurant. December 2nd they hosted an afternoon performance by violinist Eliano Braz, who will be appearing again in the near future. They also have various DJ’s including DJ Ouaga spinning music from around the world, check their events calendar.

This coming Sunday will be an extra special day for the whole family because Santa will be at Bier International, LIVE in person. This is the 3rd year in a row that St. Nikolaus will be making an appearance. There will be Christmas songs, gifts and photos with Santa. You can meet him in person between the hours of 3pm – 7pm. Ousmane mentioned that last year they had a big turn out. So make sure to get there early as it will likely be even more crowded this year.

Bring your kids this coming Sunday and get into the Christmas spirit with St. Nikolaus at Bier International. See you there!

*We would like to Congratulate Ousmane Keita and Chris Pollok (the owners of Bier International) for their recent mention in the New York Times yesterday, Sunday, December 2nd. For those of you who missed it, here is a link to the article on Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem A Boulevard in Harlem Undergoes a Resurgence.

  1. Thanks for your comments. I agree with all of you, we love Bier International here at HarlemCondoLife (and 67 Orange @ Anon)

“TheseYoungParents” I’d have to agree that there are a few places (unfortunately) that are not as children friendly an geared more towards adults only. I think Chris & Ousmane since the beginning have made it comfortable for the whole family. Everyone is welcome. I’m sure as YoungParents with 2 little one you probably need the beers more than any of us!

Hope to see you all there, and Happy Holidays!!

  2. I read about bier international in the ny times too and I agree with you their place has been successful since the first day they opened. 67 orange and international are my favorite weekends hangouts. I do like harlem tavern too, but just to watch sports on their big screens. My numero uno is still bier.

  3. We brought our kids last year (ages 3 & 5) and they loved Santa Day. I’m glad they have made it an annual event. The staff at Bier International have always been very children-friendly which is appreciated by “these young parents” with kids that still want to go out and have some fun. I cannot say this about every place in the neighborhood.
